Reach Academy is an Alternative Provision Academy that is now situated on two sites in Longton and Burlsem having moved from Trent Vale. Longton site caters for students in years 7,8 and 9 and Burslem site caters for students in years 10 and 11. The Academy opened its doors to students in September 2018.
With facilities to cater up to 120 students aged 11-16 at any given time, the Academy is a safe place of learning for those who for whatever reason have become disengaged from mainstream education. The Academy delivers a broad and balanced curriculum designed to enable all students to leave the school with the same academic currency as any other student attending an outstanding mainstream school.
Whatever the amount of time a student spends at The Reach Academy, they are guaranteed a structured and positive learning experience, and an outstanding dedicated team able to provide emotional and academic support in a safe environment.
We aim to:
- Set high expectations for all students so they can realise their potential
- Ensure Exemplary behaviour and a respectful and orderly environment
- Ensure excellent teaching.
- Establish success in English and Maths.
Provide positive adult role models. Our staff will be role models for students in our provision, and support them in their social and emotional development. Building positive relationships is at the heart of effective behaviour management and reinforces a culture of excellent behaviour and high aspirations.
